Week 5 final week

Last week of the course (sad times) i felt this method is very useful and instinctive I definately will use it in my future projects :D

Simon Lee Week 4

This week i did the skull that we mentioned, very useful to practice the inner structure. I've also been working on another sculpture, a femenin one, this one is kneeling on one knee as is holding a rifle (weapon not ready).
I have tried another small head atempt and I've been doing the same proportion mistakes as the first one sooo... need to try harder :D

I will have refined both sculptures for the video Q & A session ^__^

Week 3 practice

Ok, this are images from the practice with the bigger bust, i found way easier to sculpt with a bigger size.

The head for the size of the body sculpt (smaller)  was way harder to sculpt in my opinion.

 This are the pics with the head added to the body, i might went a little too big but I'm happy with the aporach. I wanted to make a man with a halberd, I like long weapons.

I'm very happy with this week lessons, I feel my workflow has impoved quite a bit! ^^

Week 2 practice

Ok, I had lots of fun doing this! i feel always my first position looks better with the 4 bodies, the more I move them, the more i lose track of the knees, elbows... they need many sizes adjustments.

These two positions for assessing, bow guy and shotgun cow!

Here some other images, I tried various things and combining more than one sculpt, the more I moved them the harder to get a natural position.

I clompletely finished almost destroying the sculpts, I guess is part of the process ;) I feel theres a lot to learn still on this week 2 process.

Simon Lee sculpting class week 1

 Hello class and hello Simon, this is my exercice week one. Unfortunately I had to build it up with normal wire, the aluminum wire arrives this friday, this one though is fairly maneuverable, I will provably made another skeleton when the new wire arrives. This is Chavant NSP medium

                                    

Just for a curiosity I wanted to show you all this wire that i found on a wharehouse, the wire comes with a thinner wire around it.

Comission - Stone inside resin block

 The very first comission, trickiest bit was to shape the cast into the form of the stone. The base and the metal plate with the name was also hand made.

V.17

 Some bronze has been polished and a new wax is ready to be casted, this is the final sculpture of the series of 3 using the same body and adding diferent details on each one.

 The fins and the tail of the new sculpture also ready to cast.

Here the first images of the actual animal, a ray. The fins and the tail go atached on it.

Besades this projects (like it was not enough) I have started another reproduction of a Romanic door, I'm keeping the scale on 1/16 like in the previous one. I will post pictures of the begining of the project very soon.
